1. Add your domain to your Fabrik site

Important: Link your domain within the Fabrik dashboard first. To do this, log in to Fabrik and go to Settings > Domains and link your domain.

Make sure both the root (non-www) and www versions of your domain are added. This way it doesn't matter which URL someone enters, they'll still end up at your Fabrik site.

2. Choose your primary domain

Every Fabrik website has a primary domain/URL. If someone navigates to a non-primary domain we redirect them to your primary domain. What you choose is up to you - personally we favour the non-www version (e.g. yourdomain.com) because it is shorter and looks nicer in the address bar.

3. Link from 123-Reg

Go to the 123-Reg website and click the "Control Panel" link at the top of the page. Once logged in, select your domain name and click "Manage":

On the domain management page, under "Advanced domain settings" click "Manage DNS”:

Click the "Advanced DNS" tab to view the DNS records for your domain. If this is a newly registered domain you will likely see the following default records in place (these just point to the 123-Reg holding page):

If this is an existing domain you may have a few other records in there. In any case, the ones we are interested in are:

DNS Entry    Type      Example URL
@            A         yourdomain.com
www          A         www.yourdomain.com

You need to change both of these records to point to Fabrik's IP address 52.215.137.200. Next to each of the above records click the pencil icon and update the "Destination/Target" with the new address.

Once done, you should see the following updated records:

The Internet is a big place!

DNS records are replicated all over the internet so any changes you make can often take up to 48 hours to propagate. If after a few hours your domain still goes to the old location, please be patient and wait a bit longer. If you want absolute confirmation that you've set everything up correctly you can use Dig Web Interface.
