If you're editing your theme styles and you can't see the changes you've made to your portfolio site then your browser has cached a recent version of your site.
Don't worry, this is a very common issue. Modern day browsers nowadays cache every front end resource to increase the website performance. But this can be really irritating when you're constantly customising your site. The only way to see the changes is by doing a hard refresh or clear the cache of the browser.
A hard refresh is a way of clearing the browser’s cache for a specific page, to force it to load the most recent version of a page. Sometimes, when changes are made to the website, they don’t register immediately due to caching. A hard refresh will usually fix this, though occasionally completely clearing the cache is necessary.
To force the browser to update do one of the following:
Use the Launch Site button (top right of Fabrik when you're logged in). This opens a copy of your portfolio site in a new tab, which normally results in a fresh request, and you should see your changes.
Hard-refresh your browser. Different browsers on different operating systems have different commands for hard-refreshing, but this basically forces the browser to fetch a fresh version of your portfolio site.
How to hard-refresh your browser:
Chrome:
Windows/Linux:
Hold down Ctrl and click the Reload button.
Or, Hold down Ctrl and press F5.
Mac:
Hold ⇧ Shift and click the Reload button.
Or, hold down ⌘ Cmd and ⇧ Shift key and then press R.
Mozilla Firefox and Related Browsers:
Windows/Linux:
Hold the Ctrl key and press the F5 key.
Or, hold down Ctrl and ⇧ Shift and then press R.
Mac:
Hold down the ⇧ Shift and click the Reload button.
Or, hold down ⌘ Cmd and ⇧ Shift and then press R.
Internet Explorer:
Hold the Ctrl key and press the F5 key.
Or, hold the Ctrl key and click the Refresh button.
It doesn't hurt to do this every time you make a change to your styles.
