1. Add your domain to your Fabrik site

Important: Link your domain within the Fabrik dashboard first. To do this, log in to Fabrik and go to Settings > Domains and link your domain.

Make sure both the root (non-www) and www versions of your domain are added. This way it doesn't matter which URL someone enters, they'll still end up at your Fabrik site.

2. Choose your primary domain

Every Fabrik website has a primary domain/URL. If someone navigates to a non-primary domain we redirect them to your primary domain. What you choose is up to you - personally we favour the non-www version (e.g. yourdomain.com) because it is shorter and looks nicer in the address bar.

3. Link from GoDaddy

Go to the GoDaddy website and click the "Sign In" link at the top of the page.

Once logged in, you should be greeted with the domains you own, on the domain you want to use with your Fabrik site click the DNS button

If this is a domain you currently use you may have a few records already configured. In any case, the ones we are interested in are:

DNS Entry        Type            Example URL
@                A               yourdomain.com
www              A/CNAME         www.yourdomain.com

Change the "@" A (Host) record to Fabrik's IP address 52.215.137.200 by clicking the Edit button next to the DNS entry:

If you have "www" configured as a A (Host) record then you should update it with the same IP Address. Otherwise it will likely be configured as a CNAME (Alias) in which case you do not need to do anything, so you should have:

Or

NOTE: In GoDaddy if your root A record has no edit option like so:

it means either you have added a forward to the forwarding section of the DNS or its pointing to the GoDaddy default page. So to make that editable simply scroll down the page, find the Forward section

Click edit, and then delete that forward. Once you have done that, refresh the page and the root record will be editable.... LEAVE THE FORWARDING EMPTY! YOU DO NOT NEED TO HAVE ANYTHING IN THE FORWARD SECTION.

The Internet is a big place!

DNS records are replicated all over the internet so any changes you make can often take up to 48 hours to propagate. If after a few hours your domain still goes to the old location, please be patient and wait a bit longer. If you want absolute confirmation that you've set everything up correctly you can use Dig Web Interface.
